Creative/Technical Production Assistant (Short Term)
SPAK! Studio is in search of a hands-on production assistant for a short-term project in San Francisco (Oct 6 – Oct 26).
The role is a mix of:
“Can you run to the hardware store and grab this part?”
“Can you help assemble this machine?”
“Can you coordinate a package delivery?”
“Can you give some feedback on this design?”
Basically: a little bit of everything to help make something cool, genuinely one-of-a-kind, and culturally relevant in a very unique way come together. We’re a small team (1–2 in SF, 2 remote), and need some extra hands to get this project across the finish line.
What you get:
$40/hr, approx. 30 hrs/week for 2–3 weeks
Hands-on experience helping build something fun and unusual
A front-row seat to how a creative tech project gets made (hint: chaos)
What we’re looking for:
Local to San Francisco (or able to be on-site)
On-site work will be split between our office in the Mission and warehouse space in Bayview
Flexible schedule, generally between 9a–5p (some days may start later or run later, but long hours aren’t expected)
Comfortable with a mix of errands, logistics, and hands-on building (with guidance).
This could be a great fit for:
A student with a light semester (there’ll be downtime to catch up on schoolwork when you’re not running to the hardware store) or a recent grad
Someone with museum or exhibit technician experience
A crafty person with production experience in an ad agency or similar environment
